BMG to come up with new online search tool ‘The Cellar’

Beverage Media Group (BMG), a US-based business communications provider for the beverage alcohol trade, is to unveil a new online ordering and search engine - The Cellar - on its website BeverageMedia.com.

The online platform features a navigation tool SommSearch and offers B2B service, which allows sommeliers and retailers to place orders online directly with distributors. It can be completely integrated with wholesale inventories.

BMG e-Commerce vice president and director Ian Griffith said The Cellar builds on its existing platform and allows them to fully integrate with new business processes and partners.

"Sommeliers and retailers will be able to access more product information and real-time pricing data than ever before through our proprietary SommSearch software," Griffith added.

"We are also introducing an all-inclusive policy, inviting New York distributors to take advantage of our product listings and order integration. We are building this platform as a communications tool for distributors and their salespeople."

The Cellar will initially debut in the New York metro area followed by national launch. The search tool can only be accessed by beverage alcohol licensees, who register with BMG at beveragemedia.com/newaccount.
