Elertus unveils new wine protection system

DBR Staff Writer Published 24 October 2013

Elertus has introduced its new product, the Elertus Wine Protection System, featuring a wireless sensor.

With the help of wireless sensor, the system connects to home and business Wi-Fi networks to monitor and alert customers on the protection of their wine cellar, wine cooler, or liquor cabinet door.

The sensor also monitors temperature and humidity conditions, ensuring the user's wine collections are stored in an optimal environment.

The Elertus smartphone app, available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android, allows the user to view the status of their collection as well as customise notifications and threshold levels, and offers alerts through smartphone notifications, text messages and emails.

Elertus president Kent Hansen said the Elertus Wine Protection System gives consumers peace of mind that their valuable wine cellars are secure from theft and environmental damage.

"The system can pay for itself many times over with the prevention of a single theft or cooling system failure," Hansen added.

Available at the company's official website for $199, Elertus' new system is compatible with wine cellars, coolers or liquor cabinets with or without a locking mechanism, and requires no special tools or permanent fixture modifications.

The new system will be available at select retailers in the coming weeks.
