LUX Wines secures rights to distribute Sicily's Tornatore wines in US

DBR Staff Writer Published 09 November 2017

E. & J. Gallo Winery's independent division LUX Wines has secured exclusive rights to distribute Sicily's Tornatore wines in the US.

LUX will start distribution from 1 January 2018.

Tornatore is a family-owned winery situated in the Sicilian town of Castiglione di Sicilia on the northeastern slopes of Europe's largest and most active volcano, Mt. Etna.

The winery is the latest addition to LUX Wines, which claims to have a growing portfolio of elite brands from around the world. Tornatore is claimed to be benefitting from the region’s unique conditions and native varieties and accredited for producing complex and distinct wines.

Gallo premium wine division vice president Joseph Gallo said: “Although the number of wineries on Mt. Etna continues to rise due to the region's increasing popularity, the Tornatore family has been there for generations. Their deep understanding and respect for the land is evident in their beautifully structured and balanced wines.”

LUX Wines was founded in 2014 by E. & J. Gallo Winery to import fine wines from around the world. The company is claimed to hand-select singular, terroir-driven wines from acclaimed wineries which are deeply rooted in tradition.

It is led by managing director Giovanni Nencini, who has more than 25 years of experiences in sales, marketing and exporting of fine wines.
