Sumac Ridge Estate Winery releases Black Sage Vineyard wines

DBR Staff Writer Published 27 September 2012

Sumac Ridge Estate Winery (SREW), a British Columbia-based estate winery producing premium wines, has released four new wines from its Black Sage Vineyard.

The four wines from the Black Sage Vineyard are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Pipe, a fortified blend. These wines are bold and juicy and possess intense flavors.

Black Sage Vineyard wines are produced by following unique steps like removing the unwanted plantings in the vineyard and replacing them with plantings that suit with the vineyard site. These vines are planted in the right location and are provided with the right amount of sunlight for a quality outcome.

SREW winemaker Jason James said a better vineyard for integrated wines would be hard to come by in the Okanagan.

"I can honestly say that what's inside our brand new Black Sage Vineyard label is better than it's ever been," James added.

The Black Sage Vineyard wines are priced between $21.99 and $24.99 and are available with the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch, boutique wine shops throughout British Columbia and Alberta and select restaurants.
